Scientific Program

General Practice stands at the forefront of community Healthcare. As a Medical specialty it has its own ample methodology, spanning healthcare education, preventive medicine, early diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, continued care, research and quality control. Adapting to the challenges posed by new diseases, medical practices, risk groups and ways of teaching requires new methodologies for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

This broad scope makes all those subject matters suitable for discussion in a scientific event such as this. The goal is to render knowledge more accessible, as well as sharing experience on healthcare in acute or long term chronic conditions, on reaching out for vulnerable groups (children, pregnant women, the elder), on Rural Medicine and Rehabilitation. E-learning stands as both a new concept and method for continued learning. As a learning and development tool it allows for a more effective knowledge management and development network for healthcare professionals in different and controversial areas: education and prevention in healthcare, clinical governance and practical management, communication skills. General Practice/Family Medicine comprises them all.

e - becomes the common factor. The eLearning open the doors of the eHealth and this one opens the doors of a labyrinth of knowledge that has in the horizon the infinity. It is this precious stone we are going to develop.

The Organizing and Scientific Committee of the Second Virtual Congress of General Practice/Family Medicine invite all to join this forum by actively participating with the publication of their results and experience.
